ROYAL WINE TASTING

Royal Vineyards are situated on the rocky slopes near the Petrcane village. They were replanted on the land gifted to the Benedictine sister from the monastery of St. Mary in Zadar by king Peter Kresimir the IV in the 11^th century. Grapes have grown for many centuries on those rocky slopes above Petrcane. The vineyards overlook the Zadar archipelago, Velebit Mountain and city of Zadar. Spreading on 40 hectares and counting more than 300 000 vines, Royal Vineyards are among biggest vineyards in Zadar Region.

During your visit you will get the chance to taste 5 top quality wines: Pošip, Plavac Mali, Muškat, Rose Scuro and Crljenak. Made by old Croatian indigenous variety of grapes dating back to the 15^th century, Crljenak is the most famous wine from the Royal Vineyards. As the matter of fact, it was scientifically proved that American Zifandel and Italian Primitivo trace their ancestry from it.
