For all the restless spirits in eternal quest for an adventure we offer full day jeep safari excursion on Croatian largest mountain-Velebit. The mountain stretches in the form of banded arch along the Adriatic coast in the northwest-southeast direction, between the Vratnik pass and the river Zrmanja valley. It`s a part of Dinarid mountain range and can be characterized as a typical karst mountain. Its highest peak is Vaganski vrh (1757 m) situated in Paklenica national park.

The most conspicuous feature of Velebit mountain is the presence of the “two different faces” – one on the Adriatic coastal slopes and one on the continental slopes. The differences between them can be seen in the variety of features – vegetation, habitats and species, as well as in the habits of people living there. Velebit has very high biological diversity, 2500 plant species have been described and about hundred of those are endemic. Besides its natural beauties, the cultural heritage of Velebit mountain is equally rich and valuable. Evidence of human presence can be followed from prehistoric times until present days.

Safari starts from Maslenica bridge, 377 m long concrete bridge that connects ‪Zadar region with the rest of Croatia. The first stop is at Libinje plateau, a place famous for wild horses that live in the area. The trip continues towards Tulove Grede, a karst phenomenon located at‪ Velebit Nature Park. This karst formation consists of stone towers and pillars. The road across Tulove Grede was constructed in the 19th century. The local legends say that fairies and dragons used to live between these stunning and breathtaking cliffs. Beneath this cluster of rocks is situated a church of St. Francis that was built in 1832. by Austrian emperor Francis the I. The last stop is ‪Zrmanja river where one can enjoy in the beautiful and relaxing scenery and tranquility of the waterfalls.
