The hinterland of Zadar is a place where tradition has been respected for centuries. Many local legends, folk customs, poems and chorus from the past have been preserved and still live among the residents.
It is a great place for getting to know Croatian history and cultural inheritance but also for tasting some gastronomic specialties of the Zadar Region such Dalmatian prosciutto or Peka dish – lamb meat and vegetables baked in a pot or a tray that is covered with the iron bell dome and put into the embers of a fireplace.
Half day excursion with departure from Zadar. Drive through the hinterland of Zadar towards the rural estate. Sightseeing of the vineyards and wine cellars where the guide will introduce you to the wine sorts that are being made there. After a short tour you’ll get the chance to taste and experience the hinterland through wine tasting and delicious dinner with authentic Croatian dishes prepared by our hosts.
Šibenik is the old coronation town of Croatian kings, established in the 11th century. One of its sights, St. James` Cathedral is listed in the Register of UNESCO`s World Cultural Heritage. Town is quite small and has a lovely promenade where you can take a walk and enjoy the sea view. Above the city stands St. Michael`s fortress dating from the 15th century. Šibenik is a typical Dalmatian town with narrow streets and many monuments of historical importance whose charming sceneries will simply overwhelm you.
